Job summary

AECOM in Australia is seeking Fire Safety Engineers to join our Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane teams on a range of projects. You will apply fire engineering expertise from concept through construction and building occupation, contributing to performance-based design briefs and technical reports.

The role offers a collaborative, mentorship-focused environment within our Buildings and Places group, with hybrid work options and opportunities to liaise with authorities and clients across sectors.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering fire safety projects in a consulting environment.
• Engineering qualification in Fire Engineering or related discipline with knowledge of the Building Code of Australia.
• Experience in preparing Performance-Based Design Briefs, Fire Engineering Reports and Fire Strategies.
• Strong background in computer-based modelling and interaction with authorities on design approvals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Apply and develop fire engineering expertise across large-scale projects from concept to occupation.
• Develop and/or lead performance-based design briefs, fire engineering reports and strategies.
• Perform fire engineering analysis including CFD/physics-based modelling as required by project.
• Contribute to successful project delivery and client outcomes across markets.
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate with senior staff on project delivery.
