Job summary

GHD Group in NSW/ACT seeks Senior to Technical Director Fire Protection Engineers to lead design and delivery of wet and dry fire protection across sectors, contributing to major buildings and infrastructure.

You will mentor junior engineers, engage with clients, manage budgets, and collaborate with architects and multi-disciplinary teams while advancing technical excellence and business development.

Qualifications

• FPAS registration mandatory for Technical Director role.
• Senior role open to candidates pursuing FPAS registration.
• Degree in engineering with 6–10+ years of detailed design/technical documentation in wet and dry fire projects.
• Willingness to lead business development activities and leverage a professional network.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC, and codes; familiarity with international standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead project scope, tender, design and delivery for complex fire protection projects.
• Deliver wet and dry fire protection across sectors such as transport, health, education, energy and more.
• Develop and review designs for active fire protection systems meeting codes and client requirements.
• Collaborate with architects and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Manage budgets, schedules and resources to achieve strong commercial outcomes.
• Build client relationships through advisory, site visits, proposals and business development.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and QA.
