Job summary

GHD is seeking experienced Fire Protection Engineers from Senior to Technical Director levels to join our NSW/ACT Architecture and Building Engineering team. You will lead wet and dry fire protection design across major projects and mentor junior engineers.

Based in Sydney, Newcastle, Canberra or Wollongong, you’ll drive technical excellence, project delivery and client engagement while contributing to business development within a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• FPAS registration or progression towards FPAS for Senior role.
• Degree-qualified engineer with experience in fire protection design.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and NCC; NFPA/FM knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead project scope, tender, design and delivery for fire protection schemes.
• Deliver wet and dry fire protection across sectors (transport, health, education, etc.).
• Develop and review active fire protection designs per codes and client requirements.
• Collaborate with architects and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver solutions.
• Manage budgets, schedules and resources to achieve strong commercial outcomes.
• Build client relationships through advisory, site visits and proposals.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design reviews and QA.
