Job description

Job Title: Fire Damper Engineer. Location: Croydon, South London. Salary / Benefits £24k – £42k + Training + Benefits

An industry leading provider of Compliance / Air Hygiene / Fire Safety services in the South of England are now seeking to take on a Fire Damper Engineer. The successful candidate will have extensive experience carrying out the full range of fire damper services on Educational, Retail, High Security, Healthcare, and Government sites. You will hold an industry recognised qualification e.g., BESA Fire Damper certificate and will have extensive knowledge of BS 9999 guidelines. Candidates will have good access to the M25, London and surrounding areas: Bromley, Orpington, Dartford, Gravesend, Chatham, Gillingham, Maidstone, Epsom, Reigate, Crawley, Haslemere, Horsham, Ilford, Romford, Woking, Guildford, Reading, Slough.

Experience & Qualifications

• Will ideally hold the BESA Fire Damper certificate.
• Experience working in a reputable fire safety company.
• Extensive knowledge of BS 9999 guidelines.
• Good IT skills.
• Able to work well independently.
• Able to manage workload efficiently.

The Role

• Carrying out maintenance, installation, and servicing of fire dampers.
• Carrying out assessments of dampers, ensuring they are in safe working conditions.
• Undertaking fault finding on site ensuring to rectify issues in a timely manner.
• Inspecting fire doors.
• Installing fire dampers in line with manufacturing guidelines and requirements.
• Working in line with BS 9999 / Health and Safety guidelines.
• Providing clients with technical support and advice and detailed and comprehensive reports based on site findings.
• Providing advice on the condition of site dampers.
