Job summary

SGS Australia is a leading provider of Testing, Inspection and Certification services across the country. We are seeking a casual Fire Assayer to join the Perth team to perform essential metallurgical duties.

Responsibilities include weighing, fluxing, firing, cupellation and sample preparation, following QC procedures and maintaining accurate records while minimising lead dust exposure. A valid driving licence and first aid certificate are required.

Qualifications

• Valid driving licence.
• First aid certificate.
• Previous laboratory experience.
• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork.
• Delivers superior results in a lab setting.
• Forklift licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Weigh, flux, fire, knock up and cupell samples in correct numerical order.
• Follow established QC procedures and avoid contamination.
• Manage recycling and disposal of pots, slag and cupels and other waste.
• Ensure all paperwork and electronic records are filled out accurately.
• Perform other tasks as needed, including weighing samples and sample prep.
• Use appropriate PPE and minimise lead dust exposure.
