Job summary

Palm Lake Group is seeking a qualified Finishing Foreman to join the construction team at Palm Lake Resort Bargara. This full-time, 2-year fixed-term role runs 38 hours per week from 6am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

You will lead finishing trades, oversee maintenance and safety, ensuring projects meet the highest standards in a vibrant community setting. A strong track record in residential builds is essential.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in carpentry (essential).
• 3–5 years experience as Finishing Foreman or in maintenance within residential sector.
• Current C, MR or HR Driver Licence.
• HRWL Forklift ticket, White Card & First Aid Certificate.
• Proven ability to motivate and lead teams, trades and subcontractors.
• Experience coordinating resources for many homes under construction.
• Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead finishing trades to deliver high-quality projects on time and to spec.
• Monitor progress, manage materials, liaise with managers, contractors and suppliers to meet deadlines.
• Conduct site inspections for quality and safety compliance.
• Perform and oversee building maintenance and preventative maintenance across systems.
• Handle basic administration, including inventory and maintenance records.

Position Details

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Finishing Foreman to join our construction team at Palm Lake Resort Bargara. This is a full-time, fixed-term 2-year position, working 38 hours per week between 6am - 5pm Monday to Friday.

As the Finishing Foreman you will lead and coordinate all finishing trades while overseeing maintenance, repairs, and safety to ensure construction projects are completed to the highest quality and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Managing contractors & trades to deliver high-quality project outcomes on time, to specification & in compliance with building codes and regulations;
• Monitor project progress, manage materials and equipment, and liaise with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure deadlines are met;
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and building standards and identify maintenance & repair needs.
• Perform and oversee building maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance across building systems and infrastructure.
• Basic administration, including inventory, ordering & maintenance records.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Strong residential construction knowledge & understanding of BCA requirements;

• Trade qualification (Preferably Carpentry) essential;

• 3-5 years experience as Finishing Foreman or Maintenance (preferably in residential sector);

• Current C, MR or HR Driver Licence;
• Current HRWL Forklift ticket, White Card & First Aid Certificate;

• Proven ability to motivate, lead and manage teams, trades and subcontractors;

• Experience coordinating resources and managing a high volume of homes under construction;

• Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements;

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

• Excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
