Mars Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a global financial services firm in the search for a Financial Reporting Manager.
In this key leadership role, you will support a team of Accountants in managing client relationships and delivering high-quality outcomes. Acting as the primary escalation point, you'll play a pivotal role in resolving client queries and ensuring service excellence across the board. Day-to-day, you'll collaborate with stakeholders across the division, proactively facilitating exceptional service delivery. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, is solutions-focused, and committed to driving positive client experiences—both internally and externally.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Accountants, supporting them in acting as the primary operational contacts for their allocated client portfolios and participating in service level reviews and ad-hoc meetings.
- Oversee timely resolution of client queries, escalating complex issues to the Senior Leadership when necessary.
- Ensure accurate and timely testing of templates, processes, and system changes to maintain compliance with legislation and internal policies.
- Provide transition support for the setup of new portfolios or restructures in accordance with client instructions.
- Conduct formal supervision and self-assessment testing of procedures and deliverables in line with the risk management framework.
- Drive and contribute to initiatives focused on improving operational efficiency and reducing risk across the business.
- Deliver ongoing training, coaching, and professional development for team members, while managing their performance and growth.
Requirements
- Minimum 6-8 years of management experience within the Australian financial services industry, with strong expertise in financial reporting and APRA compliance, particularly in relation to unit trusts and superannuation funds.
- CA or CPA qualified.
- In-depth knowledge of fund accounting, financial and APRA reporting, and the associated operational risk and compliance requirements within a client service environment.
- Solid understanding of tax principles as they apply to unit trusts and their impact on unitholders.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and APRA reporting obligations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
