Job summary

Hunter Manning is partnered with a large privately owned mining services provider seeking an FP&A Manager to lead budgeting, forecasting and commercial finance initiatives.

Reporting to the CFO, you will drive short-term and multi-year plans, own cost frameworks and provide insights to senior management and the Board, while guiding a commercial analyst and collaborating with IT and operations.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA qualification required.
• Experience in FP&A, management accounting or commercial finance.
• Advanced Excel and ability to build financial models from scratch.
• Strong costing and variance analysis knowledge.
• Excellent communication and ability to present to non-finance audiences.

Responsibilities

• Leading the annual budgeting process and preparing budget packs and commentary for senior management and the Board
• Maintaining a rolling forecast, with variance analysis and clear commentary
• Developing scenario and sensitivity models to support strategic and commercial decisions
• Owning the standard cost framework and unit economics, including return on capital analysis
• Producing monthly performance and cost analysis, identifying key drivers, risks and opportunities
• Owning and improving the business's financial models and planning tools, including identifying opportunities to automate and streamline processes
• Maintaining the integrity of planning and forecasting data in partnership with IT and operations
• Contributing to monthly management and Board reporting
• Leading, guiding and reviewing the work of a commercial analyst

Our client is a large privately owned mining services provider based in near the airport with a strong National and International customer base. The business is seeking an FP&A Manager to join its finance function.

About the role

Reporting to the CFO, you'll turn operational activity into short-term and multi-year financial plans and give the business the insight it needs to make sound decisions. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll work with senior management, operational leaders and the broader finance team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborative, solutions-focused and able to manage competing priorities
• Team leadership experience and experience in asset-intensive industries will be highly regarded
