Job summary

RSM Australia is seeking a Financial Planning & Analytics leader to establish and manage a dedicated FP&A function. You will lead accountants and data analytics staff, report to the Financial Controller, and partner with senior stakeholders to drive financial insights.

You will supervise budgeting, forecasting, and model development, leveraging Workday/Adaptive Planning and advanced Excel. This is a people-centric role within a renowned professional services network across Australia.

Qualifications

• 3+ years senior management accounting / FP&A experience.
• Leading teams and business partnering experience.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Workday / Adaptive Planning.
• Experience in an accounting or professional services firm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare management reports in accordance with Australian GAAP for professional service firms.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and identify risks and sensitivities.
• Design, develop and analyse financial models and reports.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts.
• Identify and resolve complex accounting issues.
• Analyse management accounting reports and provide insights to stakeholders.
• Advise stakeholders on practical and commercial issues and develop value-adding solutions.

About the role:

An exciting opportunity to establish a Financial Planning and Analytics function, leading a team of accountants and data analytics staff. This position reports to the Financial Controller and will work closely with the Director of Group Finance and senior stakeholders within the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare management reports in accordance Australian GAAP for Professional Service Firms.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, identify risks and cash flow sensitivities;
• Design, develop and analyse financial models and reports;
• Preparation of budgets and forecasts;
• Identify, research and resolve complex accounting issues;
• Analyse management accounting reports and provide insight and advice to key stakeholders;
• Advise key stakeholders on practical and commercial issues and develop solutions which genuinely add value to the business;
• Develop strong relationships across the business;
• Management, development and mentoring of staff.
• Review and improve business processes;
• Maintain accounting records in accordance with firm policies and procedures including processing of journal entries;
• Share knowledge and best practice to actively increase the overall knowledge of the team;
• Assist with the annual partner profit assessment and oversee the maintenance of supporting financial models and records.
• Assist with other Group Finance activities as and when required.

About you:

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

CA / CPA Qualified (or equivalent)

DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES:
