Job summary

The Wealth Designers in West Perth is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations, driving structure and accountability across client service, administration and support teams.

Reporting to the COO, you will blend people, process, technology and performance to deliver high-quality financial planning services, build capable teams and lead change in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading ops in financial planning or wealth management.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across client service, compliance and operations.
• Proven track record of leading operational change, business integration and technology implementation.
• Strong workflow management and process improvement capabilities.
• Solid understanding of financial planning operations, compliance and client service.
• Good commercial acumen with budgets and KPIs.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to coach, motivate and develop team leaders.
• High technology literacy, familiar with Microsoft apps and CRM/finance systems.
• Resilience and adaptability to lead in a fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations across client service, administration and operational support.
• Oversee workflow, resource planning and back-office functions to improve performance and client outcomes.
• Establish service standards, workflows and KPIs across operational teams.
• Coach and develop team leaders, building accountability and leadership capability.
• Monitor service delivery and address issues affecting quality or timeliness.
• Work with advisers and managers to remove operational barriers and improve productivity.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to simplify processes and reduce turnaround times.
• Support regulatory and operational compliance with external compliance manager.
• Support risk management, audits, breaches, complaints and governance.
• Oversee the implementation and optimisation of CRM, workflow and financial planning systems.
• Champion automation, AI and digital solutions to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
• Contribute to workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and succession planning.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the business, creating structure, accountability and efficient workflows across our operational and support teams. You will bring together people, process, technology and performance to ensure the business runs smoothly and our advisers can focus on delivering high-quality advice.This is a broad leadership role suited to someone who enjoys building capable teams, improving how work gets done and leading through change in a dynamic and evolving environment.

What you'll be doing

About you

You are an experienced operational leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery. You create clarity in complex environments, build strong relationships and know how to bring people with you through change.

• Operations management experience within financial planning, wealth management or financial services
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across client service, compliance, administration and operational support
• Demonstrated success leading operational change, business integration and technology implementation
• Strong workflow management, process improvement and problem‑solving capability
• A sound understanding of financial planning operations, compliance and client service
• Strong commercial acumen, including experience working with budgets and KPIs
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to coach, motivate and develop individuals and team leaders
• Strong technology literacy, with experience using Microsoft applications and financial planning or CRM systems
• The adaptability and resilience to lead effectively in a fast‑changing environment
• A relevant tertiary qualification.
