• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop the finance team.
• Manage month-end and year-end processes, including consolidated and divisional reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory compliance.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash-flow reporting and timely financial analysis for the General Manager and executive team.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking, tax and general ledger functions.
• Maintain strong financial controls, systems and processes across all Group entities.
• Lead inventory and stock management, product costing, COGS, gross margin and variance analysis across multiple processing sites.
• Partner with operations and sales leaders to improve commercial understanding, profitability and business performance.
• Coordinate stocktakes and ensure production, yield, labour and inventory data is accurate and timely.

Ferguson Australia Group is seeking an experienced, commercially minded Financial Manager to lead the finance function across our diverse and growing group. Based at our Hendon head office and reporting to the General Manager, this is a hands-on leadership role that combines financial control, management reporting, commercial analysis and strategic support. You will partner with the executive, sales and operations teams to strengthen financial performance, improve systems and controls, and provide clear insights that support informed decision-making across multiple entities and sites.

Key responsibilities

Lead, support and develop the finance team.

Manage month-end and year-end processes, including consolidated and divisional reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory compliance.

Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash-flow reporting and timely financial analysis for the General Manager and executive team.

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking, tax and general ledger functions.

Maintain strong financial controls, systems and processes across all Group entities.

Lead inventory and stock management, product costing, COGS, gross margin and variance analysis across multiple processing sites.

Partner with operations and sales leaders to improve commercial understanding, profitability and business performance.

Coordinate stocktakes and ensure production, yield, labour and inventory data is accurate and timely.

Liaise with external accountants, auditors, banks, government bodies and other professional advisers.

Support grant reporting, R&D compliance and other strategic or improvement projects as required.

About you

A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business.

CA or CPA qualification, or progress towards completion.

Demonstrated experience in a senior accounting, finance management or financial controller role.

Strong management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow and financial analysis capability.

Advanced Excel skills and confidence using accounting or ERP systems.

Well-developed leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

Experience in manufacturing, food, seafood, primary production or a multi-entity environment will be highly regarded.

Cost accounting and inventory-management experience will be highly regarded.
