Genius People in Sydney is seeking an Analyst or Senior Analyst to join our growing Transaction Services team. The role focuses on financial due diligence, with opportunities to work on both buy-side and sell-side engagements for private equity, corporate and mid-market clients.

You'll review historical and forecast financial performance, analyse earnings, working capital and net debt, identify issues that could affect a transaction, and contribute to due diligence reports.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial due diligence or transaction services.
• Experience in corporate finance or M&A advisory.
• 12 months+ relevant experience.
• CA/CPA/CFA progress useful but not essential.

Job description

A growing Transaction Services team in Sydney is looking for an Analyst or Senior Analyst.

The role is focused on financial due diligence, but the team is open to people coming from commercial due diligence, corporate finance or other transaction-focused roles. What matters most is that you have worked on deals, understand financial information and want to build your career in Transaction Services.

The role:

You will work on both buy-side and sell-side engagements for private equity, corporate and mid-market clients.

The work will include:

• Analysing earnings, working capital and net debt
• Identifying issues that could affect a transaction
• Contributing to due diligence reports
• Joining management discussions and working directly with clients and their advisers
• Taking ownership of parts of an engagement as your experience develops

What we are looking for:

You may already be working in Financial Due Diligence or Transaction Services. We would also like to hear from people with relevant experience in:

• Corporate Finance or M&A Advisory
• Valuations or Financial Modelling
• Deal Analytics or broader Deals Advisory
• Transaction-related accounting or financial analysis

We will also consider candidates from audit who have had genuine exposure to transactions outside their usual audit work.

Ideally, you will have at least 12 months of relevant experience. We are more interested in the work you have done and your understanding of transactions than your current title.

You should be comfortable analysing financial information and working in Excel. Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in deals are also important. Progress towards a CA, CPA or CFA qualification would be useful but is not essential.
