THE COMPANY

This is a finance leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers, the decision-making and the pace of a growing business. Backed by private equity and entering an important stage of expansion, the business is looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of the financial control environment and provide the CFO and Board with confidence in the numbers.
This is not a role where you simply maintain the status quo. You will have genuine ownership across reporting, compliance and financial governance, while helping the business build the foundations required for its next phase of growth.

THE ROLE
  • Take ownership of the month-end and year-end financial close, ensuring the numbers are accurate, well supported and delivered on time.
  • Prepare high-quality monthly financial and Board reporting packs, translating financial performance into clear and meaningful information for senior stakeholders.
  • Manage the Group's statutory reporting and tax compliance requirements, working with external advisors where required.
  • Lead the annual audit process and ensure the business remains ahead of its financial reporting and regulatory obligations.
  • Maintain a strong financial control environment across balance sheet integrity, accounting policies, reconciliations and governance.
  • Work closely with the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and understanding the financial drivers behind continued growth.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, improve and automate finance processes as the business continues to scale.
ABOUT YOU
  • CA/CPA qualified with a strong technical accounting and financial reporting foundation.
  • Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager ready to step into a broader leadership role.
  • Strong Australian tax, statutory reporting and audit experience.
  • Comfortable producing Board-level reporting and communicating financial information to senior executives.
  • Someone who takes ownership, challenges the way things are done and enjoys improving the finance function rather than simply operating it.
  • Experience in a high-growth, PE-backed or entrepreneurial environment will be highly regarded.
