Job description

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a technically solid Financial Controller to join a dynamic, PE-backed business with operations in Australia and the USA, poised for future growth and acquisition.

Reporting to the CFO, this role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead a small team and deliver accurate, timely, and insightful reporting to support executive decision-making and the Group’s growth strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the end-to-end accounting function and monthly consolidated reporting for Australian and US entities;
  • Delivering accurate, insightful Board reporting and commentary on financial and operational performance;
  • Managing the annual audit and ensuring full compliance with all statutory, AASB and taxation obligations;
  • Partnering with operations, providing data-driven insights and providing commercial support for BOM’s, sales, margins, inventory, and supply chain activities;
  • Driving automation, innovation and proactively identifying process improvement efficiencies that deliver timely, actionable insights for the CEO, CFO, and Board;
  • Strengthening financial planning disciplines, establishing robust budgeting and forecasting cycles including rolling forecasts;
  • Leading and motivating the finance team, building engagement and trust and fostering a high-performance culture, and
  • Supporting the integration of future acquisitions, ensuring consistent reporting and systems frameworks and aligning all activities with corporate strategies.

We are seeking a Financial Controller who combines technical accounting expertise with strong commercial acumen and leadership capability, including

  • Proven experience in financial reporting, compliance, and audit management;
  • Strong understanding of AASB standards and corporate statutory requirements;
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel, data analysis and good ability to interpret data generate meaningful insights for future decision-making;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inventory, costing, BOM and supply chain;
  • A track record of driving process improvements, automation, and efficiency gains, and
  • Leadership capability to inspire and engage a small team through a period of growth and transformation
