VALD is seeking a Financial Controller to own the day-to-day finance function across all entities in a fast-growing SAAS business. You will lead a capable team, drive month-end close, consolidation, tax compliance and treasury, while building scalable processes and strong control frameworks.
The ideal candidate is a CA/CPA with audit background and several years in controller roles, with experience in multi-currency environments and revenue recognition for subscriptions.
VALD is the world leader in technology for the allied health industry, providing innovative human-measurement technology to over 13,000 clients in over 150 countries. If you have a favourite team in the NBA, EPL, or NFL, there's a good chance they use VALD Technologies.
Since its humble beginnings in 2015 in Brisbane, Australia, VALD has grown to a team of over 400 people in over 35 countries, with five offices across four continents.
Driven by a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, sports scientists, designers, developers and engineers, VALD's suite of systems offers unparalleled insight into human movement, performance, injury risk and rehabilitation.
We are seeking a Financial Controller to take full ownership of VALD's day to day finance function across all group entities. You will join a strong, capable finance team already in place, and your role is to manage, mentor and empower them to take the function to the next level. You will oversee the monthly close, consolidation, audit, tax compliance, treasury and transactional finance.
This is a hands on leadership role in a fast growing, multi-entity, multi-currency SAAS business. You will coach the team, build their technical and commercial capability, and create the structure, processes and controls that let them scale with the business. You will also own the control environment and act as the first point of contact for finance matters across the business. Success means a confident, high performing team delivering accurate, on time numbers that the executive team trusts, with minimal escalation.
The ideal candidate is a technically strong CA/CPA with an audit background and several years in an industry controller or senior finance role, ideally in technology or subscription businesses. You will have a genuine track record of developing people and raising a team's performance. Experience with NetSuite, mergers and acquisitions, international tax and multi-jurisdiction groups is highly regarded. You will be a team player with a can do attitude, comfortable moving between hands on tasks, detailed review and big picture process design.
