Job summary

Anglicare Sydney is seeking a Financial Capability Caseworker to deliver person-centred and trauma-informed support to clients facing financial stress across multiple community locations. You will work with Financial Counsellors and local hubs to develop practical money plans and goals, enhancing financial resilience.

You’ll use strong case management and collaborative skills to advocate for clients, maintain records, and contribute to service improvements while engaging diverse communities,

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, Community Services or a related discipline, or diploma/other relevant qualification with substantial relevant experience.
• At least 2 years’ experience working with diverse or disadvantaged communities, including people experiencing financial hardship.
• Financial Literacy Education certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Strong case management skills, including goal setting, monitoring progress and adapting support as client needs change.
• Experience using client databases or CRM systems.
• Strong communication, collaboration and organisational skills.
• Valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
• Current NSW Driver’s Licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual financial capability casework to people and families experiencing financial stress.
• Complete person-centred and trauma-informed assessments to understand financial needs and any complex or intersecting challenges.
• Help clients understand their financial position by developing money plans, reviewing income and expenditure and identifying opportunities to improve money management.
• Develop and review client-led case plans, supporting people to set practical goals and build financial knowledge, skills and confidence.
• Provide strengths-based financial coaching that encourages positive behaviour change, problem-solving and long-term financial resilience.
• Advocate for clients and provide warm referrals to services, resources and financial supports that align with their needs.
• Work collaboratively with Financial Counselling, Community Pantries, Hubs and other services to provide holistic support.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and contribute to program outcomes and continuous improvement.
