Thales Australia is seeking a Financial Accountant to own payroll and cash accounting as well as general ledger activities, ensuring accurate, controlled, and compliant financial records. You’ll collaborate with Payroll, Treasury and Finance teams in a complex, dynamic environment, driving month-end close, reconciliations and financial controls.

Located in West Sydney (Rydalmere), this role requires a degree in accounting and CPA/CA qualifications or nearing completion, with experience in Oracle

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification (or nearing completion).
• Solid experience in financial accounting or financial control.
• Strong understanding of payroll accounting, cash accounting and general ledger management.
• Experience with complex journals, reconciliations and month-end close processes.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Oracle or similar).
• Strong Excel, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Managing payroll accounting, journals, accruals, provisions and reconciliations.
• Performing bank reconciliations and supporting treasury and cash management activities.
• Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and investigating variances.
• Preparing and reviewing month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and adjustments.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting period-end close activities.
• Supporting internal and external audits and strengthening financial controls.
• Contributing to finance transformation, automation and process improvement initiatives.
