NSW Government Department is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to support its financial operations and reporting requirements. The role is based in Sydney CBD with hybrid working arrangements and a contract commencing ASAP until 27 February 2027, with strong potential for extension.

You should be a qualified or part-qualified CPA/CA with hands-on SAP experience and a proven track record in a large corporate environment.

Qualificações

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Financial Accountant role.
• CA/CPA qualified or working towards full qualification.
• Experience using SAP ERP is essential.
• Strong accounting and auditing skills, including audit requirements gathering.
• Experience implementing and managing financial processes, including accounts payable.
• Experience managing procurement processes, contracts, purchase orders and financial milestones.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain accurate financial records, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and general ledger transactions.
• Prepare financial reports, analysis and insights to support business decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, NSW Treasury requirements and internal financial controls.
• Support audits, including audit requirement gathering, preparation of audit documentation and annual financial statements.
• Liaise with Shared Services and internal stakeholders to resolve financial and system-related issues.

The Company This NSW Government department plays a key role in delivering high-quality events across the state and is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to support its financial operations and reporting requirements. This is a contract opportunity commencing ASAP and running until 27 February 2027, with strong potential for extension. To be successful, you'll be a qualified or part-qualified CPA or CA, with previous experience in a large corporate environment and hands-on experience using SAP. The role is based in Sydney CBD and offers hybrid working arrangements.

The Job Reporting into the Senior Financial Accountant, in this Financial Accountant role, you will be responsible for:

• Maintain accurate financial records, including journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and general ledger transactions.
• Prepare financial reports, analysis and insights to support business decision-making.
