Job summary

Total Tools & Hardware Group (Part of Metcash) is seeking a proactive Financial Accountant to join a collaborative finance team. You will manage month-end processes, lead people-cost reporting, and provide insights to improve financial performance.

The role emphasizes business partnering and continuous improvement across major cost and reporting areas. You will work closely with stakeholders to strengthen controls, deliver accurate financial reporting, and support audit activities while

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in financial accounting, external audit or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial controls and reconciliations.
• Experience working within a large, complex or multi-entity environment.
• Proven ability to drive process improvement and enhance finance operations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience preparing technical accounting papers or position memos.
• Exposure to ERP systems such as AX, TM1 or similar.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and financial adjustments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial integrity across assigned areas.
• Lead people-cost reporting, analysis, forecasting and budgeting activities.
• Provide insights on cost performance, risks and opportunities to key stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reporting quality.
• Contribute to finance transformation and system enhancement initiatives.
• Develop strong partnerships across the business to support strategic decision-making.
