Job summary

Total Tools & Hardware Group (Part of Metcash) in Melbourne, Heatherton area, seeks a Financial Accountant to partner with the business, shaping financial performance and driving smarter decision‑making.

You will manage month‑end processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and cost reporting while supporting audits and ongoing finance transformation in a collaborative, high‑performing team.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification is required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in financial accounting, external audit or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial controls and reconciliations.
• Experience in a large, multi‑entity environment and with ERP systems such as AX or TM1.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and adjustments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain financial integrity.
• Lead people-cost reporting, analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
• Provide insights on cost performance, risks and opportunities to stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements and drive finance transformation initiatives.
