Job summary

BMW Group Australia is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its Melbourne finance team. You will support the month-end close, conduct balance sheet reconciliations, and assist with statutory statements and external audits.

The role involves fixed asset accounting, GST/BAS, tax reporting, APRA submissions, and cross-functional collaboration with Payroll, HR and IT. The ideal candidate holds an Accounting degree with CA/CPA and 2–3 years of accounting experience, with strong Excel and SAP skills

Qualifications

• A degree in Accounting together with a CA or CPA qualification.
• A minimum of two-three years accounting experience, preferably in an industry environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, GST and taxation requirements.
• Advanced Excel capability and experience using SAP.
• Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close and Group reporting process, ensuring activities are accurate and on time.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and map sub-ledger to GL across contracts.
• Assist with statutory financial statements and external audits, coordinating audit queries.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, asset registers, depreciation postings and annual audits.
• Support GST, BAS and income tax reporting, including tax calculations and transfer pricing docs.
• Prepare APRA statistical reporting and maintain internal controls and accounting controls testing.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Commercial Finance, IT, auditors and Munich HQ to resolve accounting matters.
