Mars Recruitment is sourcing a Financial Accountant / Senior Auditor for a leading institutional investment organisation in Sydney. This role offers involvement across financial reporting, fund accounting and investment operations within a high-performing finance team.

Applicants should have strong technical accounting experience and CA/CPA qualifications, with senior auditing exposure in Asset/Investment Management.

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
• CA/CPA qualification; Senior Auditor aiming to move into industry.

• Exposure to funds, financial instruments and/or financial markets; advanced Excel skills.

Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a technically strong Financial Accountant / Senior Auditor to make their first move from Chartered into a leading institutional investment organisation.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will join a high-performing finance function and gain broad exposure across financial reporting, fund accounting and a diverse portfolio of listed and unlisted investments.

This role would particularly suit a Senior Auditor currently working with Asset Management or Investment Management clients who is looking to take their technical accounting experience into a commercial environment.

The Role:

As part of the Financial Control team, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial and investment accounting activities, including:

• Management and statutory reporting across multiple investment funds.
• Financial and fund accounting.
• Review and preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Oversight of valuation processes across listed and unlisted assets.
• Working closely with outsourced fund administrators and other service providers.
• Daily, monthly and year-end financial controls.
• Review of fund expenses, management fees and associated calculations.
• Supporting external audit and financial reporting requirements.
• Providing financial analysis and technical accounting support.
• Liaising with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Identifying opportunities to strengthen processes, controls and reporting.
• Supporting projects across the broader Finance function.

The Requirements:

• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
• CA/CPA qualification Senior Auditor looking to make your first move into industry.
• CA or CPA qualification.
• Experience auditing Asset Management or Investment Management clients highly regarded.
• Alternatively, strong broader Financial Services audit experience will be considered.
• Exposure to funds, financial instruments and/or financial markets.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• The ambition and commercial mindset to develop within a sophisticated investment environment.

• Salary: $130,000-$150,000 package + up to 12.5% bonus.
