Job summary

Waverley Council in Sydney is seeking an experienced Finance Planning & Systems Manager to lead the administration, optimisation and governance of the Council's financials, reporting and systems. You will drive annual budget processes, long-term financial planning and business partnering across departments.

Reporting to the Executive Manager, you will strengthen financial governance, data quality and system performance, delivering meaningful insights to support strategic decisions and value for

Qualifications

• Degree and CA or CPA qualification in a business/finance related discipline
• Demonstrated ability to provide financial advice to all levels of management on key aspects including reporting capabilities
• Experience in co-ordination and consolidation of budgets for a medium sized organisation
• Extensive technical experience in financial accounting systems and reporting tools
• Ability to undertake systems administration of financial software and data management

Responsibilities

• Leading the administration optimisation and continuous improvement of Council's financial management, operational systems and processes
• Drafting council and executive business and financial reports and providing meaningful financial insights
• Leading the annual budget development and long-term financial plan forecasts
• Strengthening financial governance, controls, policies and practices
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial systems, data quality and reporting capabilities
• Working collaboratively with leaders to translate financial information into practical advice
