Job summary

Mott MacDonald Australia and New Zealand in Adelaide, Australia, is seeking a Finance Officer to join the APNA Financial Accounting team. You will support accurate financial records, timely reporting and governance for Australia & New Zealand.

This role offers an early-career finance professional the opportunity to develop accounting knowledge while collaborating with regional stakeholders and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, or currently completing a relevant qualification.
• Progress towards a CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification is desirable but not essential.
• 1–3 years' experience in an accounting, finance or audit support role.
• Experience in a professional service, consulting or corporate environment would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Financial Accountant in day-to-day accounting activities across Australia and New Zealand entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare journals and supporting schedules for month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support the timely completion and certification of balance sheet reconciliations within Trintech.
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards and Mott MacDonald Group policies and procedures.
• Assist with bookkeeping and financial administration tasks as required.
• Manage joint venture accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and tax filings.
• Support monthly intercompany settlement activities and follow up on outstanding balances.
