Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group is recruiting a Finance Officer for the Cobram region. The role supports day-to-day financial operations across multiple entities, handling AP/AR, payroll support, reconciliations, banking and general bookkeeping using SAP Business One and Xero.

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the position offers a temporary to permanent full-time path with a collaborative finance team and opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV, Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, Business, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a finance, bookkeeping, or payroll position.
• End-to-end payroll processing experience.
• Strong Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable knowledge.
• Solid bookkeeping and reconciliation skills.
• Experience using ERP or accounting systems such as SAP and Xero.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing.
• Supplier and customer account reconciliations.
• Processing payment runs and customer receipts.
• Payroll administration, reconciliations, and superannuation processing.
• Bank reconciliations and general bookkeeping activities.
• Managing finance inboxes and responding to supplier and customer enquiries.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
• Supporting month-end and year-end finance activities.
• Processing transactions across multiple accounting systems.
• Assisting with compliance reporting, BAS, payroll tax, and statutory obligations.
• Providing administrative support across finance functions as required.

About the Role Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Finance Officer will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions across multiple business entities. This hands‑on position encompasses accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, reconciliations, banking, bookkeeping, and financial administration using SAP Business One, Xero, and legacy systems.
