Job description

At Merivale, we believe our people are at the heart of everything we do - from iconic venues to unforgettable customer experiences. We're looking for a Finance Manager in the Financial Control & Reporting team to play a critical role owning and driving key Financial Reporting & Control processes.

The role is responsible for the month-end close processes, general ledger management, preparation and consolidation of half-year and annual financial reports, the annual audit processes, external compliance reporting and overhead management, supported by a team of Financial Accountants, Finance Analysts and Assistant Accountants who are led by this role.

The Role
  • Own and drive several key processes, including:
    • Strong focus on the completeness and accuracy of monthly financial and performance results for timely delivery in line with agreed reporting timelines, including the month-end close process
    • Balance sheet reconciliation monthly cycle and review including problem solving and identifying areas for improvement supporting enhanced accuracy, controls and efficiency
    • Play a key role in the budgeting and forecasting processes by supporting the HQ Department cost centres, ensuring that they are aligned to business goals and reflect accurate assumptions
  • Delivery of external reporting including the consolidated group results and semi-annual external compliance reporting
  • Planning and coordination of the annual audit process
  • Manage direct reports, set KPIs, annual performance reviews and career development

  • Experiencing in successfully leading teams with care including the advancing of a high-performance culture and ability to develop, engage and motivate people
  • Strong technical skills including knowledge of current accounting standards and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Experience in preparation of financial statements including consolidation, cashflows and disclosures
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
