seek.com.au is seeking a proactive Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day finance operations from our South Melbourne office. This hands-on role partners with the Director and Bookkeeper to ensure accurate reporting and sound financial control, with flexibility for either full-time or a four-day weekly arrangement.

Based in Melbourne, you will manage end-to-end finance functions, oversee payroll for AU, US and UK teams, and drive process improvements to support growth across markets.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified with experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Accounting role.
• Strong technical skills relevant to finance management.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
• Excellent communication skills with directors, management, and external advisors.
• Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall finance function.
• Manage month-end processes and deliver timely management reports.
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Cashflow management.

• Ad-hoc reporting.
• Statutory reporting and compliance for AU, US and UK.
• Coordinate tax returns preparation with external accountants.

The role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and driven Finance Manager to join our team. Based at our office in South Melbourne, you’ll work closely with one of our Directors and our Bookkeeper, taking ownership of the day-to-day finance operations of the business. It’s a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail as well while also contributing to the bigger picture.

Full time or part time (4 days/week) – we are flexible. We want to find the right person for the role and create an arrangement that works for both of us. So, whether you're looking for a full‑time position or a part‑time role that fits around life outside work, we'd love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

Working collaboratively with our Bookkeeper, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the overall finance function
• Managing month‑end processes and delivering accurate, timely management reports
• Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

• Ad‑hoc reporting

• Supporting and managing our Bookkeeper, working together to keep the finance function running like clockwork
• Systems and process improvements – things work well as they are, but we love fresh perspective and ideas

About you

We are looking for someone who takes ownership, is practical and solutions‑focused with a knack for making finance work for the business rather than just ticking boxes.

You’ll bring a collaborative approach and the confidence to suggest and implement improvements when you spot an opportunity. Ideally, we’d love:

• CA or CPA qualified with experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Accounting role
