Job summary

ERM is seeking a Finance Manager in Australia to support day-to-day financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and oversee month-end close processes in compliance with Group policies and Australian regulations. The role collaborates with the GDC, Tax, Treasury and Group Finance to deliver timely statutory reporting and audits.

You will lead month-end activities, review information from the GDC, and contribute to maintaining strong financial controls across Australian entities while driving

Qualifications

  • CA or CPA qualified (or working towards completion).
  • 5+ years' experience in financial accounting, financial reporting or finance operations.
  • Experience coordinating month-end close processes within a medium or large organisation.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
  • Experience supporting statutory reporting, audits and compliance activities.
  • Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within a multinational organisation.
  • Experience working with a Global Delivery Centre (GDC) or shared services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the monthly financial close process for the Australian entities.
  • Prepare & review journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the Accountants/GDC.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and supporting analysis.
  • Investigate significant balance sheet and P&L movements and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Review payroll journals and payroll reconciliations.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and support accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure Group reporting deadlines are achieved.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the Global Delivery Centre (GDC).
  • Review work performed by the GDC and ensure deliverables are accurate and completed on time.
  • Coordinate the timely resolution of finance and accounting queries.
  • Support the ongoing development and optimisation of the shared services operating model.
  • Work collaboratively with Group Finance and other regional finance teams.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and monitor outstanding reconciling items.
  • Support compliance with Group finance policies and internal controls.
  • Coordinate local compliance activities including BAS support, insurance renewals, bank guarantees and other regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining a robust financial control environment across the Australian entities.
  • Support finance governance and compliance initiatives.
  • Support the Financial Controller with year-end statutory reporting activities.
  • Coordinate information required for statutory reporting and external audits.
  • Assist in responding to audit requests and preparing supporting documentation.
  • Support tax compliance activities in partnership with the Tax team.
  • Work with the Financial Controller to ensure statutory reporting and compliance deadlines are achieved.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the Australian business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective month-end close processes and compliance with Group policies and Australian regulatory requirements.

Working closely with the Financial Controller, Global Delivery Centre (GDC), Tax, Treasury and Group Finance, the Finance Manager coordinates month-end activities, reviews financial information prepared by the GDC and supports statutory reporting, audit and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Month-End
  • Coordinate the monthly financial close process for the Australian entities.
  • Prepare & review journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the Accountants/GDC.

  • Promote a collaborative, accountable and continuous improvement culture within the finance team.
Continuous Improvement
  • Support finance transformation initiatives across ANZ and APAC.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controls.
  • Support system enhancements and reporting improvements.
  • Participate in finance projects and other ad‑hoc initiatives as required.
