Job summary

Tobin McClintock is seeking an experienced Finance Manager in Australia to lead the divisional accounting function within a large, complex operating environment. The role partners with Commercial Finance to deliver critical inputs and commentary.

Responsibilities include leading month-end close, developing an accounting team of about eight, and ensuring balance sheet integrity while supporting statutory reporting and audits—across multiple ERP systems during a digital transformation.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Strong financial accounting and period close experience in large or contract-based organisations.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing an accounting team.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and data visuals (SAP, TM1, Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to manage competing priorities.

This market leading business operates nationally and in New Zealand. Due to internal promotion, we are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to step into a hands‑on leadership role within a large, complex operating environment.

This opportunity will suit a technically strong accountant who enjoys being close to the business, leading people, and partnering with Commercial Finance in a complex, fast‑moving environment.

The Role

Sitting within a major operating division, this position leads the divisional accounting function and partners closely with Commercial Finance to provide critical inputs, reviews and commercial commentary.

About You

You are a confident, detail‑driven finance professional with strong communication skills and a proactive mindset who is comfortable being hands‑on while managing people in a complex environment.

You will bring:

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Strong financial accounting and period close experience within large or contract‑based organisations
• Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing an accounting team.
• Confidence working across multiple ERP and legacy systems (SAP, TM1 or similar).
• Experience with data visualisation tools, e.g. Power BI, Tableau
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
