Highbury Executive Talent is partnering with a PE-backed Sydney services group to recruit a hands-on Finance Manager who will own the month-end close, lead FP&A, and collaborate with the CFO and senior leaders.

You will drive budgeting, tax compliance, ERP transformation and strategic projects, combining strong technical accounting with commercial instincts in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

  • CA/CPA qualification with strong technical accounting foundation and commercial experience.
  • Experience with month-end, financial reporting, management accounting and FP&A.
  • Knowledge of Australian tax (BAS/GST, payroll tax, income tax).
  • Commercial mindset with ability to partner with operational stakeholders and leadership.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP/reporting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Xero, Power BI or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Own the month-end close, including journals, reconciliations, accruals and balance sheet reviews.
  • Prepare management, statutory, board and investor reporting, providing clear insight into financial performance.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting, working with operational leaders to understand performance and key drivers.
  • Deliver meaningful variance analysis and commentary, translating financial results into commercial insights.
  • Coordinate tax compliance and reporting across BAS/GST, payroll tax and income tax, working with external advisers as required.
  • Drive and support finance transformation initiatives across ERP, automation, reporting and financial controls.
  • Support audit, lender and covenant reporting, as well as business cases and investment decisions.

Finance Manager | PE-Backed Services Group | Sydney


Highbury is partnering with a PE-backed services group in Sydney that is looking for a hands-on Finance Manager. This is a role for someone ready for broad ownership across the finance function, with real exposure to FP&A, commercial decision-making, tax, transformation and strategic projects.


Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with the CFO, you'll join a high-performing finance team at an important stage of the group's organic growth. You will partner with operational leaders, senior management and the PE sponsor across financial reporting, planning and analysis, commercial finance and strategic initiatives.


It suits someone from Big 4, mid-tier or a strong commercial environment who wants more ownership and a broader remit in a high-growth business.


THE COMPANY

REQUIREMENTS


  • CA/CPA qualified with a strong technical accounting foundation and commercial experience

  • Working knowledge of Australian tax (BAS/GST, payroll tax, income tax)

  • Commercially minded, with the confidence to partner with operational stakeholders and senior leadership

  • Strong Excel skills and experience with modern ERP/reporting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Xero, Power BI or similar
