Job summary

axr Recruitment & Search is partnering with a major ASX-listed organisation in Melbourne to recruit a Senior Project Accountant. The role leads a small project-focused accounting team and collaborates with the Head of Finance and business leaders to ensure accurate reporting and informed commercial decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have CA or CPA qualifications, proven leadership in a fast-paced close, and strong communication/presentation skills.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Lead a small team of project focused accountants to deliver accurate and consistent reporting. You will work closely with the Head of Finance, Commercial and operational leaders to deliver a reliable accounting function and inform commercial decision-making and pathways.

DUTIES

• Develop a high performing team through use of goal setting & data driven KPI’s
• Manage a team to deliver consistent, accurate project accounting and consolidations
• Contribute to commercial contract management and structuring
• Drive process improvement and standardisation
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Manage multiple internal and external stakeholder relationships
• SME on technical accounting matter

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Prior team leadership experience would be preferred
• Worked in high pace environment with short month end close
• High level of commercial acumen
• CA or CPA qualification
• Strong communication and presentation ability
