You will help stakeholders understand the financial drivers of their practice, identify opportunities for improvement and provide meaningful insights that contribute to stronger commercial outcomes.

This is a highly visible role that requires a strong commercial mindset and the ability to build trusted relationships across the firm. Supported by the broader national finance team, you will adopt a hands on approach and be actively involved in both strategic and operational finance activities, while driving continuous improvement initiatives across processes, systems and reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

Partnering with senior stakeholders to provide financial insights and commercial advice.

Analysing practice performance, utilisation, profitability and financial trends.

Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.

Preparing and presenting meaningful management reporting and financial analysis.

Preparation of month end and year end accounts

Assisting with partner finance matters and broader partnership related financial requirements.

Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and reporting capabilities.

Driving process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy and stakeholder experience.

Collaborating with finance colleagues nationally to deliver consistent financial outcomes and best practice across the firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused finance professional who enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders and influencing business outcomes within a dynamic and growing national law firm.

About you

You are an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical capability with commercial acumen and a genuine passion for partnering with the business.

You thrive in a fast paced environment, are willing to roll up your sleeves when required, and are confident operating across both strategic and operational aspects of finance. You enjoy solving problems, challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities to improve the way things are done.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

CA or CPA qualifications.

Proven experience in management accounting, commercial finance, finance business partnering or a similar role, ideally within a professional services or law firm environment.

A strong understanding of partnership structures, profitability drivers, partner reporting and cash flow management.

Demonstrated experience providing strategic financial advice to senior stakeholders.

Strong commercial, analytical and financial modelling capabilities.

Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship building skills.

A continuous improvement mindset with a track record of delivering process and system improvements.

The ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands on, practical approach.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear and actionable insights.

Most importantly, you will be a proactive, commercially minded professional who enjoys working closely with business leaders, building trusted relationships and helping drive financial performance across a growing national practice.
