Carpentaria Shire Council is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead its finance function and join the Senior Leadership Team in Queensland. You will guide budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting while steering system improvements and stakeholder engagement.

The role offers a substantial package, relocation support and opportunities to shape financial strategy across the Shire. You will build capability and drive long-term sustainability within a dynamic local government

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in finance, business or related discipline with CPA/CA status.
• Local Government finance experience in Queensland including rates and service charges.
• Experience preparing Local Government budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Confidence with financial systems, technology and process improvement.

Responsabilités

• Leading, mentoring and developing the finance, revenue and rates team.
• Delivering the annual budget, 10-year forecast and long-term financial sustainability.
• Providing trusted advice to senior leadership, the Chief Executive Officer and Council.
• Overseeing financial reporting, payroll, revenue, rates, cash flow and internal controls.
• Improving systems, processes and the use of technology and data.
