Job summary

Tonkin + Taylor is seeking an experienced finance leader to shape the future of our Australian portfolio. You’ll lead finance across Australian businesses with strategic guidance and hands-on oversight, partnering with executives and boards to drive performance and growth.

You’ll present insights to senior leaders, manage cash flow, revenue recognition, and compliance while mentoring the Australian finance team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification, MBA or CFA viewed favourably.
• Background in consulting, engineering, professional services, or project-based environments.
• 10+ years of senior finance experience.
• Experience leading finance teams and partnering with executive leaders.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability turning insight into business outcomes.
• Ability to move between strategic decisions and hands-on finance work.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to the Chief Executive, Australia, and leadership team.
• Provide commercial challenge and financial insight to support decisions.
• Lead financial performance, reporting, forecasting and planning across multiple businesses.
• Work closely with General Managers to improve project performance, margins and cash flow.
• Support strategic growth initiatives and portfolio opportunities.
• Lead and develop the Australian finance team.
• Maintain governance, controls and compliance across the portfolio.
• Build relationships with stakeholders across Australia and New Zealand.
