Job summary

Black Dog Institute seeks an accomplished Head of Finance to lead financial transformation and reporting for a key research and health initiative in Randwick, NSW. You will partner with the Executive Leadership Team, shaping strategy, improving finance processes, and delivering robust financial insights to drive growth and impact.

You will oversee budgeting, forecasting and governance, build a commercially focused finance function, and mentor a high-performing team in a flexible hybrid

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Significant senior finance leadership experience.
• Strong financial strategy, planning, budgeting and business partnering.
• Experience presenting complex financial information to Boards and governance committees.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Proven track record leading and developing teams in a positive culture.
• Analytical, planning and problem solving capabilities.
• Advanced financial systems and reporting expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, planning and reporting.
• Develop financial models and insights for strategic decisions.
• Oversee revenue forecasting, expenditures, working capital and investments.
• Ensure governance, controls, risk management and compliance.
• Partner with leaders to enable workforce planning and transformation.
• Provide trusted financial advice to Executive Team, Committee, and Board.
• Oversee audits, statutory reporting and financial acquittals.
• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
