Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Finance Director to join a sophisticated family office in Melbourne. You will report to the CEO and CIO and drive strategic and operational decision-making within a high-performing, entrepreneurial team.

You will own the full finance function, including structuring, treasury, budgeting, FP&A, and financial modelling, while advising on tax and investment opportunities in partnership with the CIO.

Qualifications

• CA with senior finance leadership experience in professional services, family office or similar.
• Experience in accounting, taxation advisory/structuring and FP&A.
• Experience implementing new systems and driving modernisation in a finance function.

Responsibilities

• Lead group structuring and tax strategy for Australia and offshore.
• Oversee treasury, liquidity and foreign exchange management.
• Develop budgets, forecasts and performance reporting for investment decisions.
• Build financial models to support business decisions.
• Provide tax and structuring advice on new opportunities with CIO.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders effectively.

Finance Director - Sophisticated Family Office

Report directly to a CEO and CIO and drive strategic and operational decision making

This is an opportunity to be in the room and play a key role informing and supporting key financial, strategic and operational decisions within a global family office.

My Client invests across multiple asset classes in Australia and internationally, across a range of asset classes that would stretch any technically strong CA. The team is small, high-performing and entrepreneurial. Ideas move quickly, there are no layers to hide behind, and strategic thinking couple with expert execution is noticed straight away.

This is a newly created role with a clear mandate: take finance from a compliance function to a commercial partner the executive relies on. Reporting to a highly accomplished CEO, and supported by a Company Accountant, you will own the full suite of deliverables across this fast paced finance function:

• Group structuring and tax strategy, in Australia and offshore
• Treasury, liquidity and foreign exchange
• Budgets, forecasts and performance reporting that shape investment decisions
• Financial modelling to support business decision making
• Tax and structuring advice on new investment opportunities, in partnership with the CIO
• Key internal and external stakeholder management
• Systems and automation that give the executive more relevant information, faster

You are a CA with senior finance leadership experience in a professional services, family office or other relevant business. You will have highly developed experience across accounting, taxation advisory/structuring and FP&A. Experience implementing new systems and driving modernisation and efficiency in an established finance function is key as is an ability to liaise with a range of senior internal and external stakeholders.
