Job summary

Qantas is seeking an experienced finance leader to join the Centre of Finance Excellence as Head of Financial Control & Reporting, based in Mascot, Sydney. You will lead a large team delivering monthly reporting, forecasting and governance across Qantas, Freight and Corporate segments to enable strategic decision making for one of Australia’s iconic brands.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in financial accounting, financial control or financial management within a large and complex organisation.
• Proven success leading sizeable, high‑performing finance teams.
• Deep technical accounting expertise and knowledge of accounting standards and reporting requirements.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to engage confidently with senior executives.
• A strategic mindset combined with strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large team to deliver monthly financial reporting, forecasting and analysis.
• Maintain accountability for profit and loss, balance sheet and capital expenditure reporting across multiple segments.
• Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls and compliance with accounting standards.
• Partner with CFOs, Heads of Finance and business leaders to deliver commercial insights and support decision making.
• Drive financial transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across systems and processes.
• Manage complex stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes at senior executive level.
