Job Description


  • Take ownership of financial control and reporting across key Qantas business units while leading a large, high-performing team of finance professionals.

  • Play a pivotal role in strengthening financial performance, leading continuous improvement initiatives and influencing how one of Australia's most recognised brands operates and grows.

  • 12 month fixed term contract based at Mascot Sydney


At Qantas, finance plays a critical role in enabling strategic decision making and ensuring the financial strength of one of Australia's most iconic organisations. We're looking for an experienced finance leader to join our Centre of Finance Excellence as Head of Financial Control & Reporting.


As Head of Financial Control & Reporting, you'll lead a large, high-performing team responsible for financial accounting, forecasting, reporting and governance across the Qantas, Freight and Corporate segments. Reporting to the Head of Centre of Finance Excellence, you'll partner closely with senior finance leaders and executives to ensure the delivery of accurate, insightful and timely financial information that supports key strategic and commercial decisions.


This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a blend of technical accounting expertise, commercial acumen and the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders across a complex business environment. You'll provide leadership across financial control, compliance, performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives while driving engagement and capability within a large team of finance professionals.


What you'll be doing:
