Job summary

Australian Men\'s Shed Association (AMSA) Newcastle is seeking an experienced Finance & Compliance Manager to steer financial governance and performance for a national not-for-profit. The role blends strategic oversight with hands-on financial management, supporting the Executive Team, EO, and Board.

The successful candidate will lead budgeting, reporting, and compliance, ensuring sustainability, integrity and accountability across AMSA\'s operations and programs.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in accounting and CPA/CA membership are required.
• Experience in not-for-profit, charity or community organisations is preferred.
• Experience with budgets, financial reporting, audits and statutory compliance is essential.
• Ability to translate financial information for non-accountants.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial management, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Provide financial analysis and advice to Executive Officer and Board.
• Oversee financial controls, payroll, accounting systems and statutory compliance.
• Coordinate financial audits, funding acquittals and reporting obligations.
• Support governance, risk management and compliance processes.
• Maintain effective financial systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage the Executive Assistant/Finance Officer and collaborate across the organisation.
