Job summary

2MT Mining Products Pty Ltd is seeking a Finance & Commercial Manager in Mackay to drive financial leadership and strategic commercial direction. This role offers exposure to financial planning, reporting, risk management and business strategy within a growing mining solutions business.

The successful candidate will work directly with the CEO and leadership team, contributing to budgeting, forecasting and international operations while developing into a broader senior finance leadership role.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business or a related discipline.
• Approximately 3–7 years of experience in finance, accounting, financial analysis or commercial management.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business performance analysis.
• Well-developed analytical skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
• Commercial curiosity and an interest in understanding how different parts of a business contribute to profitability and growth.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with management and stakeholders across the business.
• A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and willingness to take ownership of responsibilities.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and professional integrity.
• The ambition and motivation to develop into a broader senior finance leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial management and reporting functions of the business, including monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Analyse financial performance, profitability, product margins and business costs to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to support commercial decisions, strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
• Assist with commercial agreements, contractual obligations, negotiations and the management of business risks.
• Coordinate legal and compliance matters, working alongside external legal and professional advisers where required.
• Support the development of financial models, business cases, investment assessments and commercial opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with sales, manufacturing, engineering and supply chain teams to improve business performance.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, reporting processes and internal controls.
• Provide leadership, guidance and support to the finance and administration team.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives, including international business activities, new markets and future growth opportunities.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Finance & Commercial Manager to join our Mackay-based team.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work closely with our leadership team, gaining exposure to financial management, commercial operations, contractual matters, business strategy and international operations.

Duties Include:

Ideally, the Successful Candidate Will Possess:

Highly Regarded but Not Essential:

• CA or CPA qualification, or currently working towards accreditation.
• Experience in manufacturing, mining services, engineering, distribution or industrial businesses.
• Exposure to commercial contracts, product costing, inventory management or margin analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools or business intelligence platforms.
• Previous experience supervising or mentoring finance or administration personnel.
