Job summary

Richard Lloyd Recruitment in Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a Senior Accountant / Finance Business Partner to join a high-performing finance team. The role spans commercial finance, FP&A, financial reporting and tax, with a strong emphasis on commercial partnering.

Reporting to Head of Finance, you will partner with Sales and Operations, lead month-end close, drive forecasts, manage tax obligations, and ensure robust controls while contributing to continuous improvement and overseas finance

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent) required.
• Experience in financial reporting, month-end close, FP&A and tax.
• Strong commercial acumen; translate financial data into business insights.
• Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or another product-based industry.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
• Exposure to US GAAP would be advantageous but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales, Operations and senior leadership to provide commercial insights that influence business decisions.
• Analyse product profitability, margins and commercial performance across a diverse product portfolio.
• Play a key role in the quarterly forecasting process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
• Analyse monthly financial results, including meaningful variance analysis against budget and forecast.
• Lead the month-end close process for a dedicated commercial entity with support from a shared services team.
• Manage indirect tax and statutory compliance obligations.
• Produce statutory financial reporting and compliance submissions.
• Lead both US GAAP and local statutory audits.
• Ensure strong financial controls, governance and compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, reporting and systems.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across both the local business and international finance teams.
