Job Description

Are you a sharp, driven finance professional with a knack for process improvement and a talent for building relationships? We're seeking a Finance Analyst to play a pivotal role in our Packaging & Operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity to partner with internal stakeholders, provide critical financial insights, and drive efficiency across our packaging operations.

As a Finance Analyst, you will be the key finance partner for our packaging operations, providing essential reporting and financial analysis. You will be instrumental in ensuring our annual budget, forecasts, and cost-per-item (CPI) process are aligned with the broader business strategy. Your focus will be on identifying and implementing opportunities for process and reporting improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Packaging Management Reporting

  • Own the monthly operating expenditure (Opex) reporting, including leading review sessions with multiple stakeholders and providing detailed variance analysis to budget and forecast.
  • Prepare the annual Opex budget by department across three business units and support the rest-of-year forecasting process.
  • Execute end-of-month duties, including preparing essential journal entries such as Opex accruals, contractor wage accruals, rebate calculations, and day-one Opex forecasting.
  • Deliver monthly reporting on inventory risk and production losses to management.
  • Assist with the Finance component of the annual CPI price updates, including calculating increases for all trade agreements and undertaking data loads.
  • Liaise with the Financial Accounting and Control team to resolve balance sheet queries and provide ad hoc analysis as required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and implement process improvements to ensure a standardised, accurate, and efficient Opex and inventory reporting process.
  • Lead the improvement in the understanding, tracking, and reporting of Opex and inventory risk management across the Packaging businesses.

Team & Culture

  • Effectively partner with key stakeholders by establishing clear and productive ways of working.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Work collaboratively across the Finance function to implement best practices and improve ways of working, systems, and processes.

Qualifications

  • CA / CPA / CIMA qualified, or actively working towards qualification.
  • Advanced time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Adaptable and effective in complex and ambiguous environments.

Desirable

  • Ability to translate financial and customer data/insights into meaningful and relevant action.
