Job summary

Ventia in North Sydney is seeking a Finance Analyst to support the Finance Manager – Overheads & Recharges across corporate cost centres. You will blend financial analysis, reporting and business partnering with senior stakeholders to drive performance and informed decision making.

You will cover month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and governance while balancing hands-on transactional work with a proactive focus on process improvements and data quality.

Qualifications

  • CPA or CA qualification and extensive experience in a large complex organisation.
  • Strong communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, collaborative approach and proven business partner capability.
  • Solid technical knowledge in financial planning, analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with SAP, BlackLine and Power BI is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted Finance Business Partner to corporate overhead cost centres with commercial insight.
  • Lead month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting with variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with Group Functions to identify risks, opportunities and drive outcomes.
  • Manage intercompany and internal recharges with accurate allocations.
  • Prepare and review BlackLine balance sheet reconciliations and related items.
  • Support controls, purchasing approvals, audits and governance processes.
  • Utilise SAP and Power BI to improve data quality and reporting efficiency.
  • Develop Power BI dashboards to strengthen performance management.
  • Apply accounting knowledge to complex transactions and ensure policy compliance.
  • Drive process improvement, automation and standardisation of end-to-end processes.
  • Develop and maintain finance policies and supporting documentation.
  • Promote accountability and continuous improvement across the finance function.

Join our Finance team in North Sydney as a Finance Analyst, supporting the Finance Manager – Overheads & Recharges across Corporate overhead cost centres.


This role combines financial management, commercial analysis and business partnering, working closely with senior stakeholders across Group Functions to provide insights that support business performance and informed decision making. You will play a key role in financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, governance and process improvement, while balancing hands on transactional activities with a strong stakeholder engagement focus.

Key Accountabilities


  • Act as a trusted Finance Business Partner to corporate overhead cost centres, providing commercial insight, financial advice and actionable analysis to support decision‑making.

  • Lead month‑end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting, ensuring financial accuracy, effective cost allocation, clear variance analysis and insightful commentary.

  • Partner with stakeholders and Group Functions to understand performance, challenge variances, identify risks and opportunities, and drive improved financial outcomes.

  • Manage intercompany and internal recharges, ensuring accurate calculations and alignment with budgets and forecasts.

  • Prepare and review BlackLine balance sheet reconciliations, including prepayments, accruals, payables and receivables, resolving aged or unusual items promptly.

  • Support financial controls and compliance across purchasing, approvals, goods receipting, audit and governance processes.

  • Leverage SAP, Power BI and other financial systems to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, financial visibility and data‑driven decision‑making.

  • Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions to strengthen performance management and streamline reporting.

  • Apply strong accounting knowledge and judgement to complex transactions, ensuring appropriate treatment and compliance with policies and controls.

  • Drive process improvement, automation and standardisation to strengthen controls, reduce risk and inefficiency, and improve reporting quality and timeliness.

  • Develop and maintain finance policies, procedures, controls and supporting documentation to ensure consistent and effective end‑to‑end processes.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and commercial focus by identifying opportunities to enhance financial performance, efficiency and the quality of financial information.


About You


  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional accounting qualification (CPA or CA)

  • Extensive experience in a comparable role within a large, complex organisation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with a proven ability to build trusted relationships and act as a true business partner, providing commercial insight across all aspects of operations.

  • Previous experience with SAP, BlackLine and Power BI is highly desirable.

  • Strong technical knowledge and practical experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting.

  • Sound understanding of financial accounting principles and audit requirements.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of entity‑level internal controls, processes and governance frameworks.

  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability, supported by excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work effectively under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong commitment to data integrity, accuracy and quality.

  • A naturally curious mindset, with a genuine passion for continuous improvement, process optimisation and identifying opportunities to add value.
