Job summary

Xavier Catholic College in Hervey Bay, part of Brisbane Catholic Education, is seeking a School Officer (Finance) to deliver financial services to the school leadership team.

You will handle accounts payable, purchasing, reconciliations, and develop financial processes, while supervising support staff and meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accounts or finance role.
• Experience developing and implementing effective financial management processes.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Flexibility to meet the demands of the school and demonstrate initiative.
• Not required to be Catholic.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support and advice on a diverse range of financial matters.
• Duties including Accounts Payable, Purchasing and Procurement.
• Reconcile accounts and banking transfers.
• Developing and/or administering financial processes and procedures, and responding to inquiries about the financial operations across the school.
• Reviewing and developing local systems and providing recommendations for enhancement.
• Monitoring service delivery to identify efficiencies and ensure compliance with government and departmental directives, policies, and standards.
• Analysing data for school leadership reports.
• Facilitating work to meet deadlines and commitments and supervising and training support staff as required.
