Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking an experienced Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) to join our Engineering team in a FIFO role on a 20 days on / 20 days off roster. The role involves 10-hour shifts and duties across heavy and line maintenance for the Dash 8 Classic under MOE and CAMO requirements.

You will hold a B1 or B2 LAME license, possess a DHC8 Classic rating, and bring a disciplined safety mindset.

  • Experience in heavy and line maintenance.
  • DHC8 Classic type rating required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform licensed aircraft maintenance duties across Dash 8 operations.
  • Ensure documentation and certification comply with MOE and CAMO requirements.
  • Contribute to safety programs and maintain a zero-harm environment.
  • Execute shift handovers and ensure clear task handovers.
  • Complete critical maintenance tasks with proper control procedures.

About The Team

We conduct airborne missions for the Australian Government across maritime surveillance and search and rescue operations. With bases strategically positioned across Australia, we operate a fully integrated in‑house aviation capability which includes flight operations, maintenance organisation, training organisation and operations centre.

The Opportunity

Opportunity for a B1 or B2 Dash 8 Classic Type Rated LAME to join our Engineering team in a FIFO role working a 20 days on 20 days off roster. The role will see you working 10‑hour days in both am and pm shifts, your responsibilities will include;

  • Perform the duties of a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
  • Ensure all aircraft maintenance, documentation and certification is carried out and completed in line with the MOE, procedures manuals and responsible CAMO requirements
  • Hold safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a zero harm and incident/injury free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position
  • Perform, implement and maintain any required shift / task handovers
  • Ensure Critical Maintenance Tasks are completed with applicable control procedure prior to issue of a CRS
About You

Essential For This Role
  • Experienced LAME B1 or B2 licensed
  • Heavy and Line maintenance Experience
  • Hold a DHC8 classic type rating

This role requires the successful applicant to hold full Australian working rights.

Applicants may also need to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements. In certain circumstances this can place limitations on persons who hold dual nationality, permanent residency or are former nationals of certain countries as per ITAR 126.1.
