Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services in Newman, WA is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to service, maintain, and repair fleet and workshop equipment. You will handle scheduled tasks, order processing, and diagnostics, while contributing to safety and reliability on site.

Fortnightly rosters include 2/1, 2/2, 3/2, 4/2 and 5/2 with FIFO options from Perth for eligible candidates. The role offers a competitive hourly rate, allowances, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Australian-recognised Diesel or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic trade certificate required.
• Proven mechanical knowledge in automotive, transport, mining, waste or heavy industry sectors.
• Current HR licence required.
• Forklift ticket is desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair plant, equipment and fleet vehicles in a timely manner.
• Complete scheduled daily tasks as directed by Workshop Supervisor or Leading Hand.
• Process work orders, purchase orders and parts requisitions accurately and on time.
• Record and monitor stock and parts levels; report discrepancies.
• Carry out complex diagnostics and repairs across equipment range.
• Attend breakdowns and perform repairs on rostered days.
• Contribute to Veolia’s AlwaysSafe culture and safe work practices.
