Job summary

McLean Farms is seeking a Telecommunications Field Technician to deliver high‑quality ICT support and maintain copper and fibre networks across multiple sites. You will install, configure, and troubleshoot wireless, Wi‑Fi, and enterprise IT infra, while working with the Network Manager to ensure reliable performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• ACMA Cabling licence with Endorsements is desirable but not essential
• Experience providing ICT support and managing service desk functions
• Proficiency installing and maintaining wireless, copper, fibre networks
• Familiarity with OTDR and Power Meter testing equipment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Install and configure wireless, cellular, Wi‑Fi, and enterprise IT infra including switches/routers
• Design, implement, and optimize wireless and satellite network solutions
• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose issues across network assets
• Test and troubleshoot data network components to ensure optimal performance
• Prepare commissioning reports for new deployments and site handovers
• Splice, terminate, and test copper and fibre cabling
• Conduct field testing with OTDR and power meters; document results
• Identify faults and perform timely repairs to restore service
• Collaborate with and supervise subcontractors as required
• Build and maintain physical rack infrastructure across sites
