Job summary

Technical Forest Services (TFS) seeks a Field Technician for the NSW North Coast to perform forest inventory and mensuration across hardwood plantations and native forests. This role is hands-on outdoor work, with daily data collection and plotting in variable terrain.

You will navigate challenging bushlands, capture precise field data, and follow strict reporting processes. Training is provided, and you will join a growing regional team with a safety-first culture.

Qualifications

• Experience with forest inventory and mensuration is preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors all day in variable terrain.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out forest inventory and mensuration fieldwork across plantations and native forests.
• Navigate dense bush and rugged terrain to identify plots.
• Capture accurate field data using digital data collection tools.
• Follow structured reporting processes for every plot, every day.
• Plan daily routes and logistics to work safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot terrain, weather, access and equipment issues as they arise.
• Drive 4WD vehicles to and around remote work sites.
