Job summary

PSS Ag in Moree, NSW is seeking a Field Service Technician with strong trade skills and an interest in agricultural machinery and technology. The role is hands-on, involving workshop builds, machine modifications, installations, and field support of precision agriculture equipment.

You will work both in the workshop and on-farm, performing diagnostics, upgrades, calibration, and on-site customer support, while collaborating with sales and operations to ensure safety, quality and performance.

Qualifications

• 3 years in Precision Agricultural or similar area.
• Experience with agricultural machinery, hydraulics or heavy equipment.
• Strong fitter and mechanical aptitude with problem-solving to identify faults quickly.
• Comfortable in workshop and on-farm environments.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Welding, fabrication or hydraulics experience highly regarded.

About the role

We’re looking for a Field Service Technician, with strong trade skills and an interest in agricultural machinery and technology. The role is primarily hands-on, involving workshop builds, machine modifications, installations, and field support of precision ag equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, modify, and install mechanical components and machinery
• Carry out mechanical upgrades to planters, sprayers and other agricultural equipment
• Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and on-farm technical support
• Machine inspections and performance optimisation
• Assisting growers with setup, calibration, and training
• Supporting demonstrations, field days, and customer events
• Working closely with the sales and operations team to deliver high-quality service, ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and performance standards
• Represent PSS Ag in a professional manner on customer sites

To be successful, you will have:

• 3 years in Precision Agricultural or similar area
• Experience working with agricultural machinery, hydraulics, or heavy equipment
• Strong fitter and mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to identify faults quickly and minimise machine downtime
• Comfortable working both in a workshop and on-farm
