Job summary

Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA) is seeking a Field Service Technician to service customers in the Hunter region, based around Newcastle. You will travel to client sites, perform preventive maintenance and repairs, and diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.

You’ll report to the Newcastle Branch and operate with a high degree of independence while backed by a national organisation. You will have a trade qualification and experience with mobile plant, forklifts and heavy

• Trade/technical qualification in mechanical field or equivalent.
• Experience with mobile plant, forklifts, heavy vehicles or similar equipment.
• Strong diagnostic skills in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Attend breakdowns and respond to customer service requests.
• Complete preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Maintain accurate service records and job documentation.
• Build relationships with customers and provide technical support.
• Work with the Newcastle Branch and wider service network.
• Manage daily schedule while working autonomously in the field.

Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA) is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team, working in and around the Hunter region reporting into our Newcastle Branch.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being out on the road, working directly with customers and having the freedom to manage their own day.

What will you be doing?

As a Field Service Technician, you'll be responsible for keeping our customers' equipment operating safely and efficiently. Your day will involve travelling to customer sites throughout the Newcastle and surrounding areas to:

• Carry out scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs on material handling equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
• Attend breakdowns and respond to customer service requirements
• Complete preventative maintenance and safety inspections
• Maintain accurate service records and job documentation
• Build strong relationships with customers and provide professional technical support
• Work closely with the Newcastle Branch and our wider service network
• Manage your daily schedule while working autonomously in the field

What are we looking for?

We're looking for a technician who is practical, customer-focused and enjoys solving problems.

You’ll ideally have:

• A relevant mechanical trade qualification – Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Vehicle, Automotive or equivalent
• Experience working on mobile plant, forklifts, heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery or similar equipment
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic diagnostic skills
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
